LWG Hosts Member Update Webinar

The Leather Working Group (LWG) hosted an online member meeting on 26th May 2020 to provide member companies with an update on our Covid-19 response, as well as give an overview of the group’s ongoing workstreams and plans for the next few months. LWG Welcomes New Operations Manager

The Leather Working Group is pleased to announce that Christina Trautmann has joined the group in the role of Operations Manager. Christina will be based in our Northampton office in the UK, working closely alongside our other key operations staff who focus on membership, events, administration and technical development. Prior to joining LWG, Christina comes to us after spending the last seven years with adidas, having mostly worked within footwear material sourcing. Most recently in her role as the Portfolio Manager for leather, she gained valuable experience within the leather supply chain and also represented adidas on the LWG Executive Committee. Results from the 2020 LWG Member Survey

The annual LWG Member Surveys are an essential tool for helping steer the direction and focus of the Leather Working Group. We received a total of 245 responses to the 2020 LWG Member Survey, comprised of: 125 Leather Manufacturers 56 Suppliers 45 Brands/Retailers 18 Agent Traders This represents 34% of the total LWG Membership and the highest survey response rate we have seen.  By analysing the key themes of the Member Survey, we hope to understand the main priorities for our members across the leather supply chain and make effective change where possible. LWG Launches Webinar Series

In an effort to provide continued value for member companies, the Leather Working Group will launch a series of regular webinars on several different topics with relevance to the leather supply chain.  Drawing from our training programme in 2019, we will redevelop our training workshops on chemical management and the LWG Trader Audit Protocol into webinars suitable for online delivery. LWG reminds members to please complete the Covid-19 Impacts Survey, opened for responses from all Voting Contacts on 13th May 2020. As a member organisation, LWG values feedback and input from our member companies across the leather supply chain. Our annual Member Survey, usually opened in January each year, is a key driver in the group’s strategic direction for the next 12 months.
