The Global Traceability Framework for Beef and Leather is a collaborative initiative jointly led by Better Food Future and World Wildlife Fund that aims to create a standardised data system to trace beef and leather from farm to finished product.

Launched in March 2025 in partnership with the Institute of Food Technologists, Wholechain, Rever, and FAI Farms, the framework addresses fragmented systems and data silos that currently limit transparency and sustainability verification.

With pilot programmes ongoing in Brazil and Australia, the initiative has progressed from early ideas to real-world testing. Over the past year, partners have been testing systems in live supply chains, refining technical tools, and building industry engagement to support broader adoption.

On February 19, Better Food For Future will be providing updates about the initiative with a live and interactive webinar. The action-oriented organisation that brings together industry leaders, policy makers and NGOs to address common challenges has put together the session to provide a series of important updates about everything from how to support the programme to what 2026 will look like as the initiative looks to scale up and integrate its findings into the market.

Whether you’ve been closely involved or following from afar, this is a chance to reconnect, share perspectives, and help shape what comes next as the Framework transitions toward broader uptake.
