Our Brand members have immediate access to an established environmental auditing system that has been developed by the worlds’ leading centre of excellence for the leather industry in conjunction with several major brands and their tanner suppliers.

LWG expects any brands or suppliers that wish to use the LWG protocol to assess their leather supply chain to be fully engaged, paid up members of the Leather Working Group.

Our philosophy on membership is that brands and suppliers fund the group through annual subscriptions, while leather manufacturers are assessed via the LWG Environmental Audit Protocol.

Meetings

LWG hosts two annual Main Member Meetings: one in Spring, to coincide with APLF in Hong Kong, and the second in Autumn to coincide with a European leather fair.

LWG Hosts Member Update Webinar
The Leather Working Group (LWG) hosted an online member meeting on 26th May 2020 to provide member companies with an update on our Covid-19 response, as well as give an overview of the group’s ongoing workstreams and plans for the next few months. Hosted via Zoom, over 180 members registered to attend the webinar, organised to functionally replace the annual Member Meeting in Hong Kong – which was unfortunately cancelled due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Several LWG committee members joined the call to speak on various topics, including presentations on the development of Version 7.0 of the LWG Environmental Audit Protocol; conformance to the ZDHC MRSL; the LWG Tannery of...MORE
